Organizations play a vital role in sending messages about the disability experience. The language and imagery organizations use to support the disability community are vital to the mental health of the community. When done properly we can affirm their experience authentically.

There is asaying in the disability community, “Nothing About Us, Without Us.”

Our guidance for talking about the disability experience should come from disabled individuals.

During this lunch and learn, you will hear from disability rights advocates about the proper uses of language and imagery when working with the disabled population.
