The Arizona Opera is holding a private show for our community! Beauty and the Beast will be performed. This performance is an opportunity to bring your child to a performance surrounded by their peers.

May 15th (Monday) 6:30-7:30

Ages: best for K-6 (but any age can enjoy!)

Performance Length: 40 minutes

Snacks permitted: Yes

Language: English

Warnings: Volume – while no microphones will be used, the singers do have loud powerful voices. Any students who may be sensitive to that should sit farther back in the room.

Based on the original fairytale, this family-friendly adaptation of Beauty and the Beast is sure to delight audiences of all ages.

When a wealthy merchant’s ship is destroyed in a storm, he leaves his family to recover the wreckage. However, he becomes lost and finds a beautiful castle ruled by a horrid Beast. The youngest daughter, Belle, goes to find him, and in doing so, she begins an adventure that challenges everything she thought she knew about family, duty, identity, and love.

This powerful opera speaks to modern audiences as it grapples with issues of greed, free will, and the reality that things are not often what they seem.
