This past year has been the year of D.A.M.E.S.

A year of total dedication to the goal of creating an empowerment society for mothers who care for special needs children.

I could not have done this alone and in this post I want to thank a few people who have contributed to this site.

Matt- I could not have done this without your encouragement and support. You have stood behind me the whole way I appreciate how much you have been there for me.

My family- (Cindy, Willis, Jamie, Nikki)- Thank you for always being there to help me with the kids: for picking them up from school, for watching them on weekends so that I could participate in events around the valley, and for helping me put together arts and crafts for the Sensitive Santa events.

Billie Jean- When I first got the idea for D.A.M.E.S. you were the first one I talked to about it. You helped me shape D.A.M.E.S. into what it is today. I will always be thankful to have such a knowledgeable, supportive, and brilliant women in my corner.

Extended family- (you know who you are)- The funding for D.A.M.E.S. came entirely from you. You all have seen me struggle with our children’s diagnosis and have always wanted to help but didn’t know how. By supporting D.A.M.E.S. you have done that and more. Thank you.

Starshine Community- Ladies thank you for offering me a scholarship this past year. Your advice and guidance really helped to elevate every aspect of D.A.M.E.S. It has been priceless to have a community of entrepreneurs at my side, there to help with all aspect of this business.

Contributors and Collaborators- There are over 15 women who have worked on D.A.M.E.S. Thank you. I know that what we have created will touch and help so many mothers and I thank you for your support, time, energy, and for the thoughtfulness you put into the work you have done for this community.

People sometimes ask me how I do it. How did I start a company, keep myself together, and raise two children with special needs.

Well this is how. This amazing community of support that surrounds me has made this all possible.
